Bath University has a rich tradition and is only a relatively small university in terms of students. There are several areas that students favour when choosing where to live in the city. Firstly, the city centre is a favourite for obvious reasons, such as proximity to shops, nightlife and transport links. Lansdown and areas in and around Lower Bristol road are also very popular, the latter being a good place to go out at night, with pubs and bars.

The majority of students opt to live in the Oldfield Park area which is 10 minutes out of the centre of Bath but has good transport links. (The university bus is frequent from here), there is also a 24 hour petrol station for those midnight scotch eggs and pasties.

Many students prefer to take the short trip to Bristol for a night out as there is far more of a nightlife scene there. The good transport links cater for this and make it easily feasible.
