Bangor is the perfect place for student accommodation if you are a student who enjoys outdoor pursuits and want to study in a close-knit community. Nestling in the shadow of Snowdonia, Bangor is a hidden gem with a wide range of activities on offer. There is a strong Surfing contingent with easy access to some of the best surfing beaches in North Wales. Sailing is also a popular pastime with the Menai Straits a short stroll from the main University campus. Obviously there are plenty of great walks around the area and a trip up Snowdonia is a must!

Much of the student accommodation is situated in Upper Bangor, where there are a range of excellent bars and restaurants. The cobbled lit street leading to the Greek Taverna gives a real Mediterranean feel to this unique establishment, offering traditional Greek food and live music. There are a selection of shops and a large Morrison’s supermarket to purchase goods. The city centre itself is small but does have all the amenities needed.

You can’t really go wrong in terms of choosing your student accommodation in Bangor as it is fairly small and everything is in walking distance. Bangor is not the place to choose your student accommodation if clubbing is high on your agenda although the student union does offer various themed club nights. Bangor does offer the personal touch without the trappings of a big metropolis like Liverpool or Manchester. For those wanting to experience the more bustling cities, however, Chester, Liverpool and Manchester are accessible by train from Bangor.
