Best Days Liverpool Audition
19-01-2009
A casting call is being issued to students across Liverpool offering them the chance to appear in a new video for UNITE, the UK’s largest provider of student accommodation.
UNITE has commissioned up and coming director Ollie Evans, who’s created music promos for the likes of the Gossip, the Klaxons and the Foals among others, to make a fun music video about the best days of university life. The video will air on the student television network Sub TV this March.
To win a starring role in the video, students in Liverpool can audition in a video pod which will appear for one day only in the Haigh Building of Liverpool John Moores Students' Union on Friday 30th January 09.
Those who can’t make it on the day can also submit auditions via UNITE’s Facebook page – just search for “best days”. For more information, visit www.unite-students.com/bestdays.
With entries from across the UK set to flood in, Liverpool’s students will need to wow UNITE, whether that’s impressing with a special talent, raising a smile with a party trick or sharing an inspiring story about their time whilst at university.
A range of parts are up for grabs from extras to two leading roles.
The best entrants will be selected for a casting call with Ollie and UNITE in London in February. The video will be shot in late February and air in March 2009.
Students’ stories will also be used to help inspire the content of the video.
Commenting on the project, Ollie said: “University is often cited as the best days of our lives – and with good reason! Whether it’s making new friends for life, going to an incredible gig or getting top marks, every student will have some great stories to share.
“With a combination of music, humour and technical trickery we’ll be making the most of those stories and creating a funny, memorable video people will want to share with their friends.”
UNITE’s Sales and Marketing Director Nathan Goddard said: “As a student accommodation provider in Liverpool we like to play a part in making the university experience as rewarding, inspiring and enjoyable as possible for our customers.
“We wanted to do something to celebrate that and capture a moment among the current generation of students. We’re delighted to be working with Ollie and can’t wait to see what he comes up with.”
